Family Advocacy

BraveBe's Family Advocates walk alongside families from the first moments of crisis through the path toward healing.

Day-of Advocates provide immediate intervention, emotional support, safety planning, and connection to critical resources. They help families understand what is happening, answer questions, and assess immediate needs so no one feels alone in those first overwhelming moments.

Ongoing Advocates continue that support as cases move forward. If a case advances, they help families navigate the court process, prepare for hearings, participate in engagement sessions, and access counseling, housing assistance, and other community resources.

Our advocates provide steady, compassionate guidance every step of the way so families never have to navigate complex systems alone. Our goal is to help children and caregivers feel informed, supported, and strengthened throughout their healing journey.

Court School

Court School prepares children for what to expect if they need to testify. During these sessions, children explore child friendly explanations of the courtroom, learn who will be present, and build confidence through guided preparation. Family Advocates partner with the County Attorney to answer questions and support the child at every step. Court School helps reduce fear, increase understanding, and ensure children feel safe and empowered during the legal process.

Engagement Sessions

Engagement Sessions help families strengthen their relationships, practice coping skills, and promote healing after trauma. Guided by a Family Advocate, children and caregivers participate in activities that encourage communication, trust, and resilience. These sessions offer meaningful support while families wait for additional services or participate alongside other forms of care. Engagement Sessions create opportunities for families to heal and grow together.
